Lo sviluppo della Corporate Responsibility nella gestione d’impresa: lo scenario internazionale

Abstract

Today we are in the midst of a rapid global transformation with increased demand on corporations not only to perform financially but also to be good corporate citizens. One of the most important aspects of this transformation is the critical importance of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. Climate change; community health, education and development; and business sustainability are some of the most pressing issues of our time. Businesses are increasingly involved in these areas as are their clients and their people. This raises the issue of accurately and transparently accounting for and reporting these activities. KPMG conducts an International Survey of Corporate Responsibility Reporting every three years to gain insight into CSR reporting and to contribute to the evolving global dialogue on transparency and accountability. The 2008 survey was conducted in 22 countries and with more than 2200 businesses around the world.

La crisi economica internazionale manifestatasi nel corso del 2008 ha riacceso l'attenzione della politica, dei media e dell'opinione pubblica mondiale sulla necessità di un riallineamento tra etica e affari. In questo contesto, assume particolare rilievo lo sviluppo della Responsabilità Sociale d'Impresa, quale innovativo sistema di governance aziendale, aperto al confronto e al dialogo con tutti i portatori d'interesse delle organizzazioni e orientato a creare valore non solo nel breve ma anche nel medio e lungo periodo.

Al fine di fotografare e analizzare i trend in corso in tale contesto, KPMG ha realizzato uno studio internazionale sullo stato dell'arte della sostenibilità nelle principali aziende di 22 paesi.
