Abstract

When, as actually, the dynamism of environment and market is high, traditional approaches of strategic management show their limits to front increasing uncertainty. It is in this context that emerge importance of “strategic flexibility”, paradigm that synthetize the strengths of the previous theories of strategic management in a new way as requested to front complex situation. Strategic Flexibility can be defined as a proactive as well as reactive strategic moves for manage the change, both internally and externally, by leveraging on the vital and desirable aspects of the continuity of the organization in terms of core value, culture, competence and strategic positioning. Strategic flexibility allows also as a predictor of vitality and sustainability of strategy formulation and execution growth of the enterprise. It not only act as a driver of financial performance but also contribute to long term survival (continuity) and growth (change) of any enterprise. To sum up, it can be contemplated that the rigid framework of strategy formulation are giving place to dynamic and flexible framework of strategy formulation and execution where emerge a “new dimension” of process strategy decision the “Flexibility”.
