Chimica Organica

Abstract

Viene brevemente delineata l'attività scientifica del Dipartimento di Chimica Organica dell'Università di Pavia. Gli ambiti affrontati sono svariati e si riferiscono sia alla scienza di base che ad aspetti applicativi. I temi principali di ricerca sono: fotochimica organica per la sintesi organica non convenzionale (chimica verde) e per la modificazione di farmaci; molecular modeling per spiegare il riconoscimento tra molecole; transienti reattivi e loro attività biologica; meccanismi di ossidazione; sintesi con catalisi enantioselettiva; caratterizzazione spettroscopica; sintesi di materiali polimerici organici; sintesi di macrocicli e di nanostrutture; chimica dei prodotti naturali; sintesi di eterocicli.

An outline of the scientific activity of the Department of Organic Chemistry of the University of Pavia is presented. A variety of topics are currently developed, with reference both to basic studies and to applications. The main research themes are: organic photochemistry for unconventional ('green') organic synthesis and for the modification of drugs; molecular modelling for the rationalization of molecular recognition; reactive transients and their biologic action; oxidation mechanisms; enantioselective catalyzed synthesis; spectroscopic characterization; synthesis of organic polymeric materials; synthesis of macrocycles and nanostructures; chemistry of natural products; synthesis of heterocycles.
